Simple Step by Step Process

How does your company get started?

There are 6 steps to Award Management:
6 Steps of Award Management
  1. Evaluate travel data & project savings
  2. Decide whether to move forward
  3. Establish and implement procedures
  4. Connect to client’s travel booking center
  5. Replace tickets that provide optimal results
  6. Periodically evaluate program’s success

Details of the 6 Steps of Award Management
  1. Evaluate travel data and project savings – In order to project company point program savings, AwardMax requests that your company provide air travel data for a 12-month period of time. AwardMax then uses that data to calculate the earning of company points, recommend additional ways to earn points and project savings based on various levels of point program participation.
  2. Decide whether to move forward – Once your company decides to move forward, AwardMax will provide an agreement that outlines the terms of our service – and together we will finalize the terms of our agreement.
  3. Establish and implement procedures – AwardMax works hand-in-hand with the appropriate individuals at your company and/or travel-booking center to establish the processes and procedures necessary to implement the AwardMax service.
  4. Connect to client’s travel booking center – By connecting to the travel-booking center, AwardMax is able to view all company reservations – and to use its technology to optimally process each reservation with respect to earning, managing, using and reporting on each element of the company point programs.
  5. Replace tickets that provide optimal results – Based on the company’s objectives, AwardMax will maintain optimal inventory levels for each of the company point programs – with the purpose being to use these points for tickets that provide the greatest financial benefit for the company.
  6. Periodically evaluate program’s success – An Executive Summary, provided to the company’s top management, is prepared and presented by AwardMax – and can be provided on-line or in person at the company’s location. This summary is usually presented on a quarterly basis, but can be more or less frequent based company management preferences. The purpose of the executive summary is to provide a summary of the results of the program and to make additional recommendations on how to enhance the program, along with the pros and cons and projected savings for each recommendation.

Solutions

How does AwardMax help solve your problems?

We assist travel agencies in enhancing and extending their role as travel professionals by providing them with service solutions that they can offer to their corporate clients for the purpose of reducing business travel costs.
Companies usually assume that their travel agency knows everything when it comes to travel—including loyalty programs. Even though these loyalty programs offer awards that can be redeemed for travel, travel agents are seldom loyalty program experts, leaving them ill-equipped to provide robust loyalty program services.
The level of complexity and dynamic nature associated with loyalty programs requires loyalty program specialists. AwardMax allows travel agencies to offer specialized loyalty program services directly to their corporate clients, which in turn enhances and extends their role as the travel professional.

What does the AwardMax Service Cost?

How is AwardMax paid?

The AwardMax fee is entirely performance based. Our fee structure is 25-30% of the savings we achieve for the company—a company pays nothing unless we save that company money.

Services

What does AwardMax do?

AwardMax provides a full-service solution for optimally earning, managing and using points that are provided directly to the company.  In addition to frequent traveler miles and points offered to individual travelers, many loyalty programs (e.g., airlines, hotels, credit card companies, etc.) also offer points directly to the company. This means that both the company and the individual traveler can earn frequent traveler points. Our focus is entirely on the company points, not the individual frequent traveler miles and points earned by the company’s travelers. We market this service through travel agencies.
By acting as an extension of the company's travel agency (or in-house agency), AwardMax is able to connect to the company’s travel booking center. This connection allows us to process company travel bookings in order to optimize the earning and management of these company-generated points – and to act as the redemption center for the use of these points. Company points generated outside of the booking process (such as points earned through air cargo or credit cards, etc.) are also managed and used by AwardMax on behalf of the company. We provide company point program solutions that are seamless for the travel agency, the company and the travelers. In addition to seamless solutions, we have the expertise to make critical decisions, such as the type of points to be earned, the optimal inventory levels to be maintained and how the points should be used to provide maximum company benefit.
We act as an extension of the travel agency—acting only as a company point program specialist, not as a travel agency. As such, we are able to use our specialized company point program focus and expertise to provide savings beyond those offered by travel agencies, travel consultants or any other entity that may choose to offer such a service.
Our service includes:
  • An initial evaluation of company travel data to determine specific savings opportunities and projected savings for each of these opportunities.
  • The establishment and implementation of all processes and procedures necessary to put our services into operation.
  • Our proprietary technology to connect to and process each travel reservation—from initial booking through travel completion.
  • Researching, obtaining, applying and managing savings opportunities.
  • Customized reports detailing all pertinent program details.
  • Periodic Executive Summaries to review the success of the program and to present any new savings opportunities.

Technology

AwardMax Technology

Our software and systems are designed to optimize the earning, management and use of company generated points that are earned from both travel and non-travel sources.
Over the span of two decades AwardMax, together with our sister companies, has developed proprietary software that coordinates and directs data between airline reservation systems, websites, internal and external databases, and our individual software components.
The AwardMax technology interfaces with all major airline global distribution systems (GDSs). By connecting to the GDS used by the company’s travel booking center, we are able to view and process each reservation for the purpose of earning all of the company points that can be generated from these reservations. In addition, each reservation is reviewed for possible replacement or cost reduction through the optimal use of these company points.
Our software is comprised of four distinct, but highly integrated, components:
  • ProTrav® is our primary data warehouse and overall system controller which stores all pertinent point program information, as well as information about the company’s travelers and their travel activity. ProTrav imports data from multiple sources and prepares various internal and external reports.
  • IntelliPro® is the decision-making engine which directs other software components in what actions to take and assists our agents in making optimal decisions.
  • GDSPro® is our interface to the worldwide airline reservation systems. GDSPro provides two-way communication between the company and the AwardMax systems and processes all tasks required on each reservation booked by the company.
  • NetPro® is our software platform that interacts with any website and e-mail functions. NetPro can read or post information between websites so that any internal databases of the company (with a web interface) can communicate with our system.
These four systems are tightly integrated to leverage the abilities of each component – all with the purpose of providing optimal results for the earning, management and use of company points.
Additionally, our technology interacts with other systems of the company, the travel agency, the travel providers and the individual travelers. It is the seamless integration of the components of our system and how they interact with other systems that allow us to achieve optimal results for the company.
